Augmented Reality Hunt 2014 / Youth Jam 2014, Malaysia

Haa.. korang baca tajuk pun dah best kan? Best la kalu korang minat hunt2 ni..

Tapi.. ini bukan macam treasure hunt biasa. Ini lebih pada hunt cari clue/tempat guna gadjet dan apps yang telah ditetapkan penganjur. Yang bestnya tempat diaorg dah point out, cuma ia bukanlah semudah yang korang sangka..

So kalu korang nak tahu apa jadi.. jom baca..

Where : Around UNESCO Heritage Site - Georgetown, Penang, Malaysia

When : 14 September 2014 (Sunday)

Syarat nak join :

Kena guna smartphone/devices mcm tablet dengan update terkini.
Kena download apps Wallipop, Instagram n Facebook (IG n FB kena set public, ramai yang takmo set public dan mungkin telah membawa kekalahan)
Kena upload kat IG dengan caption2 menarik utk mendapat markah (FB bonus)
Kena buat selfie kat semua 'station' yang korang pegi. So skill selfie + monopod agak berguna kat sini.

Alah korang biasa kan pegi tempat2 kat atas? So boleh agak lah ia melibatkan tempat2 bersejarah dalam Georgetown, dan kat tapak UNESCO Heritage kat situ, yang ada mural2 kat dinding hasil seni Ernest Zacharevic. 

Tapi hunt ni bukan in-sequance. Nak tahu lebih lanjut jom ikuti pengalaman kitaorg pada hari berkenaan.

8.00 am - arrived Padang @ Esplanade just in time for the briefing. This is the first time in Malaysia such hunt being organized, so you can imagine how excited everyone is to start (myself included). A short briefing were given, highlighting rules n regulations, dos n Dont's.
We were flag off around 8.30 am, and only 100 first team that come back and submitted their 'finishing slip' would eligible to be judged and win prizes. 

My partner this time - Munzir. He's a magazine editor, and a runner to. I guess you can guess my kind of team's composition. A runner is a must! hehe.  Walaupun kami bukan lah remaja sangat.. hehe..tapi, kitaorg jumpa satu team Master Hunter masa hari berkenaan. So diaorg pun target utk menang hunt ni.. haa.. Oh yer, kami team Merah #692

We brought along few phones, a mini Ipad, few powerbanks, some water and some sense of humour. hehe.. dont really know what to expect from such a hunt.

Once we got our 'mission card' its game on. You can start scanning using Wallipop app and the clue is revealed! Mmg smart lah sape yang reka benda ni. So our first 'station' is Fort Cornwallis, which is just next to where we are right now. Kacang ni! (wait, i might assume too soon!)

And guess what? we spent 45 minutes just to look for the clue! Around the Fort there were 6 signages, but none revealed the clue once scanned using Wallipop. (we used the android based phone) argh! this is so frustrating. We went around and ask other teams, but not all team will get the clue from the same signage. and on our last desperate attempt, we found it! at the other entrance of the Fort. only after i remember that i brought along an iPad. haha.. prolly this clue is only readable using iphone or ipad. Lucky!

So the next clue brought us to Chew Jetty, around 1.5 km away. So being a runner does have an advantage, when u already stuck at 1st station for so long, you need to catch up for the lost time (yelah, 100 team je qualified utk submit). At this point, rasa cam nak nanges sebab org lain 10 minit je dah chow dari 1st Station.. lol..

Ok this area mmg cramp. dengan tourist dan kami2 semua, and we have to go all the way to the end of the jetty to scan for the clue, then get out again to complete the task, then submit the task at the end of the jetty and get the next mission card. Phew.

Usaha bagi nampak gambar tu kreatif sket. hehe..

So the next Station, go to the end of banking street. Rasanya kat beach street nih. Area yang banyak2 bank tu. Munzir leads the way, he seems like a good navigator, even we are both not local. Gunalah google map yer kengkawan :P My task? upload gambar2 kat IG dan create awesome captions. Equally challenging kan? kan?

ok mind you, today the whole area, i mean the whole Herigate site is having a carnival, so you can imagine the crowd. we passed by few events before getting to the next Station. Once you scanned for the clue, complete the task and get your next MC (mission card). At this point my monopod holder already broken. So taking pics later on was bit difficult.

This part easy. But the distance is not. Next stop. Camera Museum. Jauh ok. And its already like 11.30am. Blazing hot. So we make our way slowly toward the museum and get there when there wasnt any queue yet (found out there was a long queue there later on). The crew given out the task, prolly because of the tight space unable everyone to come and scan for the clue. we had to ask for help from another team to form a D.I.G.I word and upload the pic via IG and get the next MC.

Next station : Armenian  Street. 
Here there's a bit of a twist. the clue kind a tricky. its didnt say we need to find Khoo Kongsi or any other Kongsi. the actual place is next to these places. Here you need to scan the mural for the clues.  3 pictures. 3 murals. All hidden (or not) around the area. Luckily the tourist there were sporting and let us cut the 'queue' and take those selfies. Serious ramai. bukan kami je peserta yang nak rebut2 amik gambar. Ada wedding couple pun nak amik gambar gak time tu.. Sabar jer lah.. You need to get the right mural and show it to the hunt crew for them to approve and get your next Mission card.

Next station : back to Padang @ Esplanade! So this is the end of first part of the hunt. Here come the next one.  Here, we need to go to the next Station : Rapid Penang station @ Prangin Mall. Ok kalu korang kat Esplanade, tengok mana bangunan Komtar. Kat situ. Jauh tu..

Once there, we need to scan the big DIGI billboard to get the next clue. Once done, we took a bus for the 2nd last station : Gurney Plaza. First time naik Rapid Penang. I think the service quite ok.  Cuma tak sempat nak nikmati pemandangan sbb dah pangok dan dok browse org lain punya IG cari ilham dan clue utk next task.

Once there, we proceed to the 7th floor and the clue is behind the Red Box signage. We need to do an Instavid and sing! Aiseh. Ni lah terjadinya konflik. Dah la dua2 tak reti menyanyi.. adoi.. So aku cadangkan, nyanyi lagu patriotik la.. Warisan by Sudirman. just a short 15sec vid. Hentam sajalah. Kibar2 bendera sket kat belakang. Done. 

So the last Station is @ Paragon Mall, where we need to find the Chatime booth, take a selfie with free Chatime drink, upload it and get the last MC. Which is, getting back to Padang @ Esplanade as soon as we can.

Man it was refreshing!

Ok here's the funny thing that happened. This one Makcik was waiting for a bus. At first dia usha dok bagi muka pelik. Yelah ape je lah korang ni  lelari mcm nak rak. Bus yang dinanti tak tiba2. Munzir ringan mulut tanya : Auntie, bus no. berapa pergi Esplanade? Tetiba auntie tu memang macam menunggu je kitaorg tanya sebenarnya.. haha.. dengan penuh excited nyer dia bg tau 'Bas pegi Esplanade dah lepas. Dan korang tak boleh naik dari sini, sbb dia pusing jauh. Pegi jalan kaki 100m dari sini, ke belakang tempat bas ni, korang boleh jimat masa dan naik bus 104 terus ke Esplanade' Wah Makcik! thank you so much! Sebab makciklah kami jimat 45 minit dan sampai awal utk submit.

alhamdulillah kitaorg sampai jer dapat lah placing 52/100. 6 jam diperlukan untuk complete. Training untuk SCKLM sekali ni kot.. haha.

Prize giving ceremony was held around 6. Kitaorg dapat no. 3! Wohoo!! Alhamdulillah sekali lagi. Ingat xde placing. Dan kitaorg tak naik atas amik hadiah. Rugi.. rugi.. Yelah lawan dengan remaja2 yang memang hebat2 semua aku tengok diaorg berselfie. My thanks to my partner sebab sanggup tahan sakit berlari ke hulu ke hilir. Best!

Sempat lagi berselfie ngan team dari Indonesia masa kitaorg lepak kat Nasi Kandar beratur otw balik ke hotel. :)

Dalam seronok2 tu korang ada perlindungan insurans tak masa join ape2 aktiviti ataupun waktu larian ni nanti? Berjayakah Ady dalam cabaran Celebrity Fitness Challenge?

Assalamualaikum and good morning!

So kita mulakan minggu ni pada hari Selasa. Terasa nak menulis ni sebab aku rasa dihargai sangat bila seorang sahabat mentioned nama aku sbb dia berjaya masuk satu challenge yang menawarkan hadiah yang agak lumayan (puluh riban okeh). 

Dan ini adalah post 'balas' buat post beliau yang terdahulu. Lebih pada nak promote kat korang pasal challenge ni dan kawan aku sorang ni :)

Sebenarnya its a DARE challenge. Kita Dare kawan kita berani ke tak masuk challenge ni, kalu kawan kita sanggup kita tolong registerkan ape semua utk dia. Ada siap kena buat slogan kreatif. Aku tanya gak Ady dia sanggup ke tak. Tapi aku lupa lak soh dia DOUBLE DARE aku balik so that kitaorg boleh lawan sesama kitaorg dalam challenge tu.. hehe.. tp takpe, Ady terpilih diantara 11 orang yang bertuah dan akan melalui letihan dan latihan transformasi yang akan menjadikan beliau mcm selebriti lepas 3 bulan! Wahh..  camne tu? haa.. korang rajin2 lah follow blog dia atau follow dia kat FB (dia add as friend atau tidak tu tak dijamin yerr..)
